Sunday Mornings at First
Presbyterian:
Children's Vido Hour (10:00-10:45 a.m.)
This is an education time for for Pre-K through 5th
graders; they meet each week for to watch a biblical themed video
and enjoy a snack of popcorn! The class meets in the movie room
on the second floor.
Adult Sunday Morning Classes (10:00-10:45 a.m.)
The Book of Amos—taught by Pastor Larry McMellen (meets
in the library at 10am)
Contemporary Issues—taught by Elder Bruce Coffin (meets in the youth room at 10am)
Carpenter’s Corner
This program is for K-5th grades. Children go to their classes
following the "Time for Young Christians" during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
Jr. High Sunday School (grades 6-8) (11:15 a.m.-12 p.m.)
This study meets the 2nd and 4th Sundays Each month during the 11am worship service. The class begins
following the "Time For Young Christians" during the 11am worship service. Class meets in the
Youth Room on the first floor.
Sr. High Sunday School (grades 9-12) (11:15 a.m.-12 p.m.)
This study meets the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays Each month during the 11am worship service (*Note no classes meet
during worship on Communion Sundays). The class begins following
the "Time For Young Christians" during the 11am worship service. Class meets in the Youth Room
on the first floor.
YOUTH
and TWEENS GROUPS
These Groups Meet during the program year September-May
Club 45 (4th and 5th grade)
This group is for 4th and 5th
graders and meets every other Sunday from 12:30-2:30pm in the
conference room at the church for lunch and discussion. For the
group's next meeting time please check the "Items of Interest" tab.
Jr. High Youth Group (6th-8th grade)
Meets
weekly in the Social Hall from 6:30-8pm. For this week’s
activity or pictures of all the fun we've had please click the "youth

WEEKDAY ADULT EDUCATION
Tuesday Bible Study
For several years Pastor Swihart has led a Bible Study on Tuesday mornings
at 10:30 a.m. This group uses
William Barclay’s Daily Study as its guide. The class is currently midway
through The Pastoral letters of Timothy, Titus and Philemon. Newcomers are always welcomed and childcare is available upon request.
A.G.A.P.E. (Ask God About Parenting Everyday)
This women’s study group meets from 10:00-11:30
a.m. every other Thursday. See "Items of Interest" for
current dates and course of study. Fun, fellowship and childcare included!

CHOIRS
Chancel Choir
Music lovers are invited to join the Chancel Choir to sing. We rehearse on
Wednesdays at 7:43 p.m. and sing for
the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
Celebration Ringers
If you enjoy music but don’t wish to lend your voice, lend us a hand
instead! The handbell choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and plays for special services periodically
throughout the year.
F.P.F.C. Ensemble (First Pres For Christ)
This choir for youth ages 13 and up, rehearses from 7pm-6:45 p.m. every Wednesday beginning September 17th.
The F.P.F.C. Ensemble sings during worship about once a month and joins with
the children’s choir for an annual spring musical.
Lamplights
For children ages 6 to 12 years of age, this choir also begins rehearsals on
September 28th. The children meet from 6:15-6:50 p.m. with a study from 6:50-7:45pm that meets in the preschool room, during the Adult
Study. Lamplights sing during worship approximately once a month and join with
the youth for an annual spring musical.
FELLOWSHIP
GROUPS
Book Binders
This women’s fellowship group meets at 7:17
p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. The books we read are
used to launch open discussion on a variety of topics in an atmosphere of
tolerance, confidentiality, and mutual support. Details will be posted on the
"Items of Interest" each month. We welcome anyone to join us!
EXERCISE
CLASSES
Adult Stretching Class
Sara Wrage has been leading this class for approximately 5 years. It is an
excellent way for those over 60 years of age to exercise and maintain their
mobility and flexibility. The class meets from 9:15-10:15
a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year. A small
donation helps defray the cost of equipment and teaching materials.
Yoga Class
Tina Ritchie leads this class for women and men at all fitness levels
from 6:00-7:00 p.m. every Thursday. A
$5 donation helps with equipment costs. Anyone is welcome to join us at any
time.
SUPPORT
GROUPS
Healthy Eating Healthy Lives (Formlay Weight Loss
Support Group)
Our Parish Nurse is sponsoring this group for adults struggling to lose or
maintain a healthy weight. It is not a diet group and does not favor one method
over another, but is an opportunity to meet in an atmosphere of support and
understanding. The group will meet twice a month beginning 2nd and 4th at 6:00 p.m. youth room t is
open to all and free. See the "Items of Interest" for updates on
dates and times.
Caregivers Support Group
Caring for a loved one? Our Parish Nurse is sponsoring this group for adults
caring for loved ones and is an opportunity to meet in an atmosphere of support
and understanding. Meets on the first Monday of each Month at 7pm in the youth.
